Synapse collaborated with the Balint Strategy Working Group, Pakistan and organized a new Balint group. This group of roughly ten healthcare professionals meets on a monthly basis to discuss emotionally challenging patient encounters through the Balint methodology (while maintaining confidentiality). Balint groups are structured groups facilitated by a leader accredited by the Balint Society, UK. Such groups help reflect and process patient encounters that have stayed with healthcare workers, and helps catharsis.

With such discussions, healthcare professionals have reduced burnout, have more empathy for their patients, and are more aware of the many factors in challenging situations, both about the patient, the environment, and about their own selves.
