Dr. Sana A Siddiqui completed her undergraduate education at Dow Medical College. After her graduation, she joined Aga Khan University for her post-graduate training in General Adult Psychiatry. She was the chief resident in her last year of residency and received the award of Best Resident from the Mind & Brain service line as well as the Department of Psychiatry.

She joined the Department of Psychiatry as a faculty member and was also the Student Psychiatrist at the university. During her time at Aga Khan University, Dr. Sana built her capacity in Medical Education, Blended & Digital Learning, curriculum development, & program evaluation. She was a member of the core team that redesigned the Psychiatry Undergraduate Clerkship Program into a blended curriculum. She designed various courses on Online Teaching in Higher Education and supported the undergraduate and post-graduate program directors in curriculum development and implementation.

She collaborated with various departments & organized biannual seminars on Liaison Psychiatry creating awareness of mental health problems in people admitted with physical health problems in the hospital and building the capacity of healthcare professionals in identifying and managing mental health disorders. She provided telehealth services to patients in Chitral, Gilgit & Baltistan, and Tajikistan and worked towards building the capacity of social workers to identify mental health conditions in their communities.

Dr. Sana recently completed a fellowship in Climate & Health Equity from Milken School of Public Health of George Washington University and is interested in creating awareness about mental health challenges arising from climate change.

She has extensive experience in leading and facilitating clinical training workshops, sessions for healthcare professionals as well as the general public in various topics of mental health. Her area of interest includes Liaison Psychiatry, women mental health, medical education, blended & digital learning, climate & health equity, gender equity, telehealth, early-career leadership, and integration of technology in clinics, academics, and research. As Co-Founder and Director at Synapse – Pakistan Neuroscience Institute, Dr. Sana will be actively involved in promoting mental well-being in adults and bringing innovative solutions to common problems.
